The National Telemedicine Network (ΕΔιΤ) was developed gradually through successive implementation phases, with the aim of creating a modern and integrated system for the provision of health services across the whole of Greece. Below you can see the main stages of the implementation and development of ΕΔιΤ, which shaped the country’s current national telemedicine infrastructure.
ΕΔΙΤ Phase 1
The first phase of the ΕΔιΤ Network was the beginning of a great journey. With 43 stations across 34 islands, telemedicine proved that care can reach everywhere — even where it once seemed impossible.
ΕΔΙΤ Phase 2
The second phase of the ΕΔιΤ Network opened new pathways of care in the Aegean. The second phase of the ΕΔιΤ Network opened new pathways of care in the Aegean. With 28 additional stations across 25 islands and the introduction of the patient tablet for home monitoring.
ΕΔΙΤ Phase 3
The third phase of the ΕΔιΤ Network marked a new step of maturity and expansion. With 13 new stations, a training centre, and the introduction of mobile (wheeled) units, telemedicine became more flexible and closer to people’s real needs.
ΕΔΙΤ Phase 4
The fourth phase of the ΕΔιΤ Network united all of Greece into a network of care without distances. With 350 stations and 3,000 patient tablets, telemedicine became a nationwide reality, now supported by a stable institutional framework and the conviction that quality health services must be available to everyone.
