What ΕΔιΤ Includes

• A network of 427 telemedicine units, which is being deployed both in remote locations and in the major hospitals across Greek territory.
• Its architecture is based on the logic of the network, and each telemedicine unit constitutes a node in the “network”.
• Each point communicates with one or more other points independently of the status and use of the rest of the network.
• It is based on the Public Data Network ΣΥΖΕΥΞΙΣ
• It has an open and extensible architecture, ensuring a high level of services.

ΕΔιΤ is a multi-tool in the service of the National Health System

Its operational objectives are:

• Equal access for all citizens to high-level Primary Health Care services, regardless of their place of residence.
• Meeting the support needs for specialties that are not available at health units in rural, mountainous, and island areas.
• The physical and operational networking of Primary Health Care units, as well as meaningful interconnection with secondary and tertiary hospitals.
• The provision of advanced tele-psychiatry services.
• The continuous training of medical and nursing staff serving in Primary Health Care structures.
